Medium grain rice is a beloved staple in Australia, with its plump, tender grains and mild, nutty flavour making it a perfect partner for a wide range of ingredients and flavours. 


 Whether used in traditional or modern dishes, medium grain rice is grown with care and attention, ensuring the highest quality in every dish it graces. Its versatility and familiarity make it a go-to choose for every meal, from humble weeknight dinners to fancy feasts.

Cooking instructions

Pre-Cooking: Rinse the rice thoroughly.

Boil on Stove Top


  1. Add 1 cup of rice and 6 to 8 cups of cold tap water to a saucepan.
  2. Leave uncovered and bring to a boil on a higher heat stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer uncovered for 10 to 15 minutes until tender.
  4. When desired texture is reached, remove from heat, drain in a colander and serve.


Absorption Method


  1. Add 1 cup of rice and 1 and 1/2 cups of cold tap water to a saucepan.
  2. Bring to a boil on a medium to high heat stirring occasionally.
  3. Reduce heat and simmer covered for 10 to 15 minutes until tender stirring occasionally.
  4. When desired texture is reached, remove from heat, stand covered for 3 to 5 minutes and serve.


Rice Cooker


  1. Rinse rice twice with cold water.
  2. Add 1 cup of rice to cooker bowl and add 1 and 1/2 cups of cold tap water.
  3. Turn on rice cooker and follow manufacturers instructions.
  4. For best results allow to stand covered in the cooker for 5 mins at the end of the cooking time.


Tip:  Gently fluff rice with a fork before serving
